Concrete Resurfacing

Worn, stained, or mismatched concrete brought back to one clean, sealed surface — speckled, flaked, or solid, with borders if you want them.

What it is

Resurfacing is the answer when concrete is sound underneath but the surface has given up: spalling, staining, patchwork from an addition, or a texture someone applied years ago that has worn through in the traffic lanes. Rather than trying to spot-repair into an existing finish, we take the whole area back and put down one consistent surface.

That is a deliberate policy, not an upsell. Matching an existing texture or colour that we did not install almost never works — the patch reads as a patch under Florida sun, and it looks worse than leaving it alone. The honest options are to resurface the whole area or to leave it, and we will say which we think is right.

Finishes range from a simple speckled texture through flake broadcast to a full stamped overlay. Speckle with a single border is our most-requested driveway finish because it hides everyday dirt, costs less than stamping, and still looks deliberate rather than utilitarian.

Where it's best

  • Spalled, stained, or sun-bleached driveways and patios
  • Concrete patched from an addition, pool cage, or plumbing repair
  • Old coatings or textures that have worn through in traffic lanes
  • Pool decks and lanais needing a fresh, UV-stable, slip-resistant surface

How we install it

Concrete Resurfacing goes down in four stages, always in this order, and each one gets the cure time the manufacturer specifies rather than the time a schedule would prefer. Compressing or skipping a stage is the single most common reason a coating fails early, so the sequence below is the job — not a summary of it.

  1. Grind

The full area is diamond-ground to remove the failed surface, old coatings, and staining, and to open a profile the new material can bond to.

  2. Repair

Cracks, spalls, and pitting are cut out and filled. Repairs are always bid and photographed rather than absorbed silently into the price.

  3. Resurface

The chosen finish goes down across the whole area in one operation — speckled texture, flake broadcast, or a stamped overlay — so there is no seam between old and new.

  4. Border and seal

Optional borders are cut and coloured, then the surface is sealed with a UV-stable finish at the slip level the space needs.

Frequently asked questions

Can you just fix the bad section?
We can, but we usually advise against it. A repair into an existing finish that we did not install will not match once it has weathered, and you end up paying for work that still looks wrong. Resurfacing the whole area gives you one consistent surface and a warranty that covers all of it.
How much does resurfacing cost?
It depends on the finish and how much grinding the old surface needs. A speckled texture with a single border is the value option; a stamped overlay costs more because of the material thickness and the hand work. Every quote itemises the surface, the preparation, and the extras separately so you can see where the money goes.
Will it hold up to Florida sun and rain?
Yes. Every exterior surface is finished with a UV-stable sealer so it does not yellow or chalk, and slip resistance is tuned into that sealer for surfaces that get wet.
